amazing, this works so much faster than grabbing spanners or a wrench and some pliers or a socket wrench.
Really cannot stress enough how much easier this is. The only thing you gotta do is still make sure you grab a torque wrench for the final tightening, but every other part is that much easier and faster.
    love it!

If you own a 3D printer, you need this!

(Zed- catch if you’re from the UK like myself, but I suspect the manufacturers call it the Zee-catch as they’re over the pond)

If you’re like myself then you really dislike the whole process of replacing nozzles. I’ll happily run the nozzle until the bitter end when print quality really starts to suffer, rather than mess about with trying to hold the heater block with any old spanner while swinging off a ratchet to remove the worse for wear brass nozzle. All of this while trying to avoid touching the lovely 200 degrees its emitting!!
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve burnt my fingers and hands… This tool is a savior!

Comes packaged nicely and is constructed to a very high quality and has been well thought out. Feels robust and is very well machined, no sharp edges or burrs. With the complete package you get everything you need:
    – The Z-catch itself. Comprises of 2 parts – The main body and with a floating lower handle section.
    – Complete socket set for every type/size nozzle you may have
    – Instruction manual
    – Z-catch sticker (I love a nice sticker)
    – Business card signed by the owner of the company (A very nice touch)

The instructions are clear and straight forward, a quick read will see you on your way to trouble free nozzle replacement.
Simply find the socket size you require for your particular nozzle and fit it to the Z-catch floating handle section. The socket is held onto the shaft in the same manner as a ratchet tool – nice and secure, it won’t accidentally come off during use..
The Z-catch holds the heater block securely in place, meaning the block can’t rotate during nozzle removal. You can get a good grip of the tool due to the machined grips in the sides of the body – you are able to really tighten the nozzle. I checked for filament leaks afterwards and it was all good! Simple!

Holding the heater block stationary was particularly important in my instance as I have the Metal Swiss all metal hot-end fitted to my CR10 and have the throat/nozzle thread depths set just so to ensure a nice tight fit. This held it perfectly in place. The design of the semi-circle cut out in the Z-catch body would allow easy nozzle removal of various sized heater blocks and nozzle sizes.
What I really liked was at no point did my hand get even slightly warm, despite the tool being made from metal it didn’t conduct the heat coming from the heater block. It was the most relaxed, stress free nozzle removal I’ve ever done!

The Z-catch can be used to fit the replacement nozzle in the same fashion which was a nice bonus..
I’ll no longer dread swapping nozzles on any of my machines 😉

Highly recommend this tool! Great idea, works flawlessly and is pure quality!
If you haven’t got one already, order one! You won’t regret it!
